Alan Sever, pianist
April Fisher, soprano, and Mary Deyerle Hack, mezzo soprano accompanied by pianist Alan Sever, will present a glorious concert of Christmas music featuring selections by Vivaldi, Handel and Britten as well as modern classics, including White Christmas, Silver Bells and The Christmas Song.
Ms. Fisher has performed in a wide variety of musical venues throughout America. She holds degrees in vocal performance and musical theatre from Arizona State University and is a past winner of the prestigious National Association of Teachers of Singing competition.
A resident of Hudson, Ms. Hack holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of South Carolina and, along with noted conductor Gwen Gould, is co-artistic director of the newly-formed Hudson Chamber Opera. Ms. Hack’s recent performance in the title role of HCO’s inaugural production of The Medium was hailed by critics as “mesmerizing.”
Allen Sever, pianist, holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University and a Master of Sacred Music degree from Union Theological Seminary. He was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to the Royal School of Sacred Music in London, England and is currently a member of the organ faculty at Manhattan School of Music.
All three artists enjoy collaborating weekly at West End Collegiate Church in Manhattan where Mr. Sever serves as choirmaster and Ms. Fisher and Ms. Hack are the soprano and alto soloists.
The suggested donation for the concert is $15 with discounts available
for senior citizens and students. All proceeds benefit the Friends of
First Presbyterian Church’s Masonry Preservation Fund.
