Creator of more than 70 roles, Dean Anthony has been highly praised for his vocal, dramatic, physical, and acrobatic abilities, often referred to as "The Tumbling Tenor." He made his European debut with Theater im Pfalzbau in Ludwigshafen, Germany and Theater des Westens in Berlin as Sam Kaplin and Daniel Buchanan in the widely acclaimed production of Weill's Street Scene, which was televised worldwide. He is a frequent guest with companies across North America including Opera de Montreal, Baltimore Opera, Florentine Opera, New Orleans Opera, Arizona Opera, Michigan Opera Theater, Orlando Opera, Cleveland Opera, Nashville Opera, Kentucky Opera, Opera Omaha, Opera Carolina, Opera Columbus, Connecticut Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Opera Memphis, Central City Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Dayton Opera and the Banff Music Centre.

Engagements for the 2003-2004 Season include his New York City Opera debut as Monostatos in The Magic Flute and in Turandot, a return to Palm Beach Opera as Edmondo/Dancing Master/Lamplighter in Manon Lescaut, Alfred in Die Fledermaus with Knoxville Opera, a return to Michigan Opera Theatre as Monostatos in The Magic Flute, and a return to Lake George Opera as Voltaire/Pangloss/Businessman/Governor/Second Gambler/Sage in Candide. Engagements for the 2004-2005 Season included 1st Man/Sandy in The Lighthouse with Nashville Opera, Puck in A Midsummer Nights Dream with Utah Symphony & Opera and Yale University, Pong in Turandot with Virginia Opera, Alfred in Die Fledermaus with New Orleans Opera, and Monostatos in The Magic Flute with Opera Carolina. For the 2005-2006 Season, engagements will include Pong in Turandot with Indianapolis and Nashville Opera as well as Nick in La Fanciulla del West with Florida Grand Opera.

Notable roles in his repertoire also include Little Bat in Susannah,The Witch in Hansel and Gretel, Bardolfo in Falstaff, Beppe in I Pagliacci, Sancho in Man of La Mancha, Cassio in Otello, Guillot in Manon, Leo in Regina, Brigella and Tanzmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos, Njegus in The Merry Widow, and Lyric Tenor in Postcard from Morocco.

Previous engagements for Mr. Anthony have also included his debut with San Francisco Opera in their productions of Turandot and Ariadne auf Naxos, Spalanzani and the Four Servants in Les Contes d'Hoffmann with Palm Beach Opera and Orlando Opera, Alfred in Die Fledermaus with Virginia Opera, Goro in Madama Butterfly with Connecticut Grand Opera, Howard Boucher in Dead Man Walking with Michigan Opera Theatre, Puck in A Midsummer Night Dream with Florentine Opera, a debut with Vancouver Opera as Curley in Of Mice and Men, Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte with Baltimore Opera, Valzacchi in Der Rosenkavalier with Opera Carolina, Pong in Turandot with Nashville Opera and Opera Memphis, and Pedrillo in Die Entfuhring aus dem Serail with Lake George Opera.
